Tim Hodey owner of Leighton Dog Walks will:

• Ensure the number of dogs walked at any one time is safely manageable so all dogs are under my control at all times

• Have risk assessments in place for emergency situations – dog fights, vehicle break down, injured, lost dog etc.

• Plan and prepare for the introduction of all new dogs to an existing group to ensure the safety and welfare of the new and existing dogs

• Walk dogs only with other dogs they are comfortable with

• Transport dogs in a safe and secure vehicle with crate locks and emergency escape routes in the event of an accident

• Ensure all leads, collars and harnesses used are fit for purpose and checked each time before use

• Ensure all other equipment used are fit for purpose and checked each time before use

• Offer alternatives if unable to walk due to e.g. hot weather, dogs in season, injuries to dog

• Build a relationship with a local veterinary practice for emergency situations

• Build a relationship with the local licensing officer

• If using privately owned land, obtain permission to use land to walk dogs

• Never use any form of punishment or physical force for any dogs in my care including physical or verbal or use any aversive equipment

• Carry a full first aid kit

 

Booking policy

Bookings need to be confirmed by at least 48 hours in advance

Bookings are made only after registration has been completed

Bookings are made via a customer scheduling system or via WhatsApp on 07774 912 026 or as initially agreed

Pick up and drop off for group walks will be within a 3-hour period (depending on the session time), including the walk duration to allow time for pick and drop off of other dogs, traffic etc

 

Charges

Individual walks (45 mins – 1 hour) – £20 – £30 (To be discussed and dependant on the dog’s specific needs)

Group walks (1 hour) – £15 per dog or +£10 per dog if 2+ dogs are from the same household.

Specialist walks – e.g. hire of private field, bespoke scent work walk, injured dog walk/home enrichment session – To be discussed

Dog pop-in visits – 1 Hour Home Visit – £20 or 30 mins – £15 (Walks as priced above)

Dog sitting – 2 Hour Mini-Sit - £30.  Overnight Sit (7pm – 7am) – £50 per night.  Weekends (Friday 7pm – Sunday 7pm) – £150 (including daily walks)

Loss or damage

Dog’s own leads/harnesses/collars are used at owner’s risk

Cancellations and costs

Cancellation of a walk by the client within 48 hours of agreed walk – Full price

Cancellation of walk, pop-in visit or sitting by the walker within 48 hours of agreed walk, visit or sitting e.g. due to illness or emergency – full refund (if paid in advance) or re-scheduled walk, visit or sit, if agreed with client

Cancellation terms in the event of an emergency/bad weather – Full refund / No charge / Re-arrangement

Cancellation of pop-in visit or sitting within 48 hours of agreed visit – Full price

 

Termination of contract  

Termination of contract by the client – 4 weeks’ notice

Termination of contract by the walker – 4 weeks’ notice
